"It is during our most challenging and uncertain moments that our Nation's commitment to due process is most severely tested; and it is in those times that we must preserve our commitment at home to the principles for which we fight abroad."
Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor, Hamdi v. Rumsfeld - 2004
I think this leaves them vulnerable to criticism, but the whole issue is foggy since their website's main reason for being is fundraising. On the other hand, Edward's does promise to put our money where their mouths are--universal health care AND publically funded campaigns. I'm not disgusted, just embarressed--I think it's un-etiquette, not unethical--there's a huge difference there. As long as it's not hurting anyone, let us all use what we've got to make the world a better place! Our vitriol is often so misplaced--as my husband pointed out today, Brittany Spears isn't hurting our nation (her children, maybe, but we can't control that) but I wish our nation had the same moral outrage for our Commander in Chief--his responsibilities encompass all of us.
