"It is during our most challenging and uncertain moments that our Nation's commitment to due process is most severely tested; and it is in those times that we must preserve our commitment at home to the principles for which we fight abroad." Democrats and money
My husband and I have had personal wounds of shame inflicted on us as a result of Edwards' seemingly purist putting-your-money-where-your-mouth-is talk (which we don't think he's been absolutely pure about); but nevertheless, he's still a convincing, passionate and authentic progressive candidate who's economic priorities make sense (and this campaign is not about us!).

Edwards makes a lot of sense, but I cannot ride with a man that allows his wife to take on his fights and then later he joins in.
I realize that she is sick, and I commend her for helping her husband during these trying times for her.
It appears that she wants him in office more than he wants to be in office.
He must be real and use her sparingly and speak for himself...stand up and be a man.
Is she going to be running things if he is elected President and telling other countries leaders what is wrong and not.
Having met both John and Elizabeth I can attest to the fact that Edwards himself is extremely passionate about becoming President and leading this country away from our current, destructive path. Elizabeth is her own woman with her own agenda and speaks for her family with strength and courage, in partnership with her husband...I do not perceive her as fighting her husband's fights for him, I have only seen her defend her family and especially attacks against her children, which the press gleefully reports and shamefully displays their hateful political-become-personal enemies. Based on her actions, I have no reason to believe she will be a "co-president" to Edwards (although I'm sure she is a moral guide to him, which I think is a good thing in a marriage). However, I think she'd be an excellent and effective First Lady.
